General Tips
- Start early:I think this is what saved me a lot of stress is starting early. I personally recommend starting right after you finish Junior year if you are planning on going straight to graduate school after undergraduate. The Summer inbetween will definitely help you figure out which schools you want to apply to and ways to get funding. Before Junior year there's also research programs that you can apply to as an undergraduate that I definitely recommend looking into. All of these programs can be found on the resource page.
- Stay Organize: I created multiple excel sheets that listed out every school I planned to apply to, when the deadline was, when was my personal deadline, list of recommenders for that school, and status of where I was at. Look on our resource page - Personalize GradStart Tracker and TODO List to help you start getting organized with your applications.
- Have people to proofread: Definitely have a second pair of eyes to read your statement of purpose and even overall application. I didn't have anyone read through my application but I definitely had different eyes reading my statement of purpose. This made a huge difference for me because I had a lot of people giving me a lot of helpful feedback.
Overall, I hope these three tips help you throughout your application process. Definitely use this website to your advantage on finding helpful resources to help you.
